Save your money

Installation is some what difficult, and saving the plastic fender liner clips is hard to achieve, and replacements need to be purchased. This product is used with the ram air intake system, to date the increase in peerformance is not worth the price and the decrease in gas mileage make it a real loser.

The System is Complete!

1st of all, I believe Gale Banks' theory that all of his upgrades work together to make power and that you may not have the same effect when using a mish-mash of after-market parts. Besides, he's been in the business since the early '60's with diesels being his specialty. With that said, I installed his Ram Air Intake system and then his 4" monster exhaust on my 2003 Duramax. There were noticeable differences in breathing, performance and sound. But it took me about 2-months and about 200 miles before I installed the Banks Super Scoop, and let me tell ya, the scoop just finished the system off! Yes, I did have better breathing & performance without the scoop installed, but the scoop put the "RAM" in the Ram Air Intake System because cool, fresh air is now being rammed directly into the intake! There is an absolute difference in performance due the to the RAM AIR effect and now throttle response is more crisp and instantaneous. My 6000# Silverado just "lives" in the 70 to 80 mph range on the freeway. It truly feels like the faster you go, the better the system performs...talk about a purring, happy diesel....incredible! I also believe I gained about 2 more miles-per-gallon? Unlike the last reviewer, I don't have wheel clearence problems because I'm pretty much stock. However, if you plan to lift your truck and put on bigger wheels, you may want to see if the scoop would get in the way. All-in-all, I give the Banks Super Scoop 5-stars because it truly gave my truck that "RAM AIR" as advertised performance (coupled with the the Banks, 4" SS Monster Single Exhaust system). The next upgrades on my list are the Banks Techno Intercooler and the 6-Gun w/ IQ! Gale Banks, YOU ROCK!!

Not worth it

It looks like a great idea but it gets in the way when steering to the left if your tires aren't any thing but stock plus not sure there is any gain at all
